How to use the new VA website

Welcome to VA's new website!

Here's a short note to introduce you to the site's main features.

Browse

The new website has five main sections – Your VA – About – Projects – Advice and Downloads – Networks. Browsing these in the conventional way allows the user to find out more about what VA does and can offer lots of information in the arts and cultural sector both in the UK and internationally.

Your VA

This is a news feed of the latest stories published on the website, covering everything from our programmes and advice to relevant sector news. If you sign up as a member on the VA website, you can personalise this homepage to show the information you want to see every time you visit.

About

This section includes VA's mission and history, and biographies for current staff and board members, including contact details.

Projects

Descriptions and news on our current and archived projects.

Advice and dowloads

This includes a wealth of information on funding, visas, links to UK and international cultural institutions, advice and documents on cultural policy and the practicalities of working internationally available for download, and other useful resources.

Networks

Information about VA's networks as well as links to other international and sector-specific networks.

Personalise

If you sign up as a member, you’ll be able to personalise the feed on the front page, making sure that VA delivers the content you want directly to you. You can also get an RSS feed delivered to you in the same way.

Tags

The new website uses a tagging system to help the user find stories of particular interest. Main tags appear at the top of all the main pages and by clicking on them you can go straight to the type of content you want to see. Each article also has tags attached to it which you can use to find more information of a similar kind, for example other projects that have taken place in a particular country.

Search

On all pages there is a search box for you to find keywords in documents – you can search for single works or a combination of words e.g. if you search for wales+critics, you will get a list of results containing both of those words.
