Professional Development Programme for Malta

In September 2015, Visiting Arts delivered the inaugural session of the Culture Works Connections professional development programme for international working, to senior administrators and leading creative practitioners from the performing arts sector in Valletta, Malta. 

Visiting Arts were invited by Arts Council Malta to deliver the three-day training workshop in preparation for next year's Malta Showcase of Maltese performing arts companies available to tour internationally.

The 7 sessions focused on delivering interactive, practice-based training for building, planning and managing partnership work for companies seeking to extend their performance and programming activities internationally. Key areas included: partnership and collaborative working; strategic planning; international marketing; building legacy; routes to market; and innovative for cultural brands. 

Participants included senior programmers, artistic directors and marketing managers, among others, the Valletta 2018 Capital of Culture Foundation, national dance company Teatru ManoelMoveo Dance Company, Encore Magazine, More or Less Theatre, Dú Theatre Group, St. James Cavalier Centre, Nafra Folk Ensemble, Studio 18 and ZfinMalta Dance Ensemble. We look forward to hearing their news!
