June 2007 Infodesk Info Desk is a new website of international arts opportunities for artists and arts organisations from Northern Ireland. Established by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, British Council Northern Ireland and An Chomhairle Ealaíon, this website provides easy access to a searchable database of arts information from around the world. Information on the site includes international arts news, a directory of useful arts links and a database of international funding resources for the arts. Roisín McDonough, Chief Executive of the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, said, “There are great opportunities for artists to develop and broaden their skills by working with their counterparts beyond these shores. We encourage our artists and arts organisations to raise their international profiles at showcase events, where they can perform to much wider audiences. The new artsinfodesk website will help to raise awareness of the career-building international opportunities which now exist for the arts community.” Until now the difficulty for artists has been accessing international arts information. The www.artsinfodesk.com website draws together key information that local artists can use to pursue their careers on the world stage.
