April 2008 BBC coverage of the Arts – make your views known Market Place Theatre and Arts Centre, Market Street, Armagh. Friday 25th April 2008, 1pm-2.30pm (lunch is provided) The Audience Council for Northern Ireland is inviting members and representatives of the Arts Community in Northern Ireland to meet with the Audience Council to discuss BBC coverage of the Arts (venue as detailed above). The Audience Council is responsible for representing the views and interests of BBC audiences in Northern Ireland to the BBC Trust, the governing body of the BBC. It believes that the BBC has a particular and unique role in supporting the Arts and is interested in gaining insight into regional and sectoral views of BBC's Arts coverage, at local and network levels. It wants to hear the views of practitioners, administrators and those with an interest in the Arts, across the public/private/voluntary and community sectors. The public meeting in Armagh may be of most interest to those in counties Fermanagh, Tyrone, Armagh and Down. Another meeting will take place in Belfast in June (details of this venue will be available at a later date). Please RSVP by 18 April! If you are interested in attending the meeting in Armagh, Email: patricia.davey@bbc.co.uk Further information on the work of BBC Trust and the Audience Council on www.bbc.co.uk/bbctrust/ and www.bbc.co.uk/northernireland/audiencecouncil/
