Yvette Vaughan Jones announces that she will be stepping down as Chief Executive

At the Edinburgh Festivals 2019, Yvette Vaughan Jones announced that she will be standing down as CEO of Visiting Arts after 14 years.

Visiting Arts is a wonderful organisation that has initiated so many exciting connections of artists and cultural organisations across the globe.  In the last three years alone we have worked with over 2000 artists and cultural managers from over 50 countries. Our networks are extensive. We have been the Cultural Contact Point for the EU and run projects funded by  the Arts and Humanities Research Council, the British Council, the European Union as well as the Arts Councils of Wales, England and Creative Scotland. I have been privileged to work with exceptional people and learnt so much from them. Our associates and partners represent the major organisations in the UK and Europe and beyond as well as developing opportunities for emerging artists and start up creative businesses. I look forward to following the news of future Visiting Arts’ projects.”

Over the 40+ years of its existence, Visiting Arts had acquired an exemplary reputation for the quality of its engagement, the reach of the work and an enviable network of associates, participants and colleagues. As an ever evolving organisation looking to the future, the organisation are in negotiations with an academic partner to house the archive and research elements and are open to suggestions from the sector for new partnerships and ideas to take forward the practical projects.

Whilst operating around the world, Visiting Arts has maintained an annual presence at the Edinburgh Festivals since 1995 when Terry Sandell and Camilla Canellas were involved – facilitating new connections and partnerships, cultivating a platform to present opportunities and topical thinking for international exchange, and inviting the participation of international artists.
