July 2007 David Lammy addresses Cultural Attachés David Lammy, Minister for Culture at DCMS, addressed circa 30 members of the cultural diplomatic community of London in May, providing an overview of DCMS activity to acknowledge the Bicentenary of the Abolition of the Slave Trade in the British Empire. This meeting formed part of a regular programme of events that Visiting Arts arranges on behalf of the diplomatic community, and was generously hosted by the Canadian High Commission at Canada House. David Lammy provided a very personal account of its importance, as well as discussing DCMS’ wider cultural foreign policy.
