Artist Links England - Brazil

Musician Negra Re and visual artist Ricardo Carioba have arrived in the UK to take up their respective residencies as part of Artist Links England - Brazil.

Visiting Arts and Artist Links England - Brazil have supported the UK residency of spoken word artist Negra Re who will be performing at the b.supreme festival at the Southbank on 2November 2007. She will be performing with Soweto Kinch, one of the UK's finest MC/musicians of the moment and as a very special b.supreme exclusive, the two artists have collaborated to create a performance piece that will include MC'ing, music and spoken word. MC Negra Re will be in the UK between October and November, working with artists and venues in London, Manchester, and Birmingham.

Ricardo Carioba is the first of the artists from round two of the Artist Links England - Brazil Programme to arrive in the UK this month. Ricardo has been awarded a three-month bursary and has begun a residency at SPACE, London. His work embraces geometry, light and colour within abstraction, using digital sound and video technologies.
