Curator Ozioma Onuzulike's research visit to the UK

Nigerian curator, writer and artist Ozioma Onuzulike has completed his 9-day research visit to the UK, which took place between 10 - 19 March 2008.

(terracotta, metal, collage, found objects)

During his time here, Ozioma met with artists, curators and arts institutions, including Gasworks Gallery & Studios, Frieze, Hayward Gallery, Iniva (all London), Wales Arts International and Artes Mundi (both Cardiff), Oriel Mostyn (Llandudno), Liverpool Biennial, FACT (Liverpool) and TATE Liverpool.

Through these meetings Ozioma was able to expand his network and gain invaluable first hand experience of the UK’s contemporary visual arts scene and to lay the foundations for possible future collaborations. In addition to these meetings, Ozioma attended a wide range of exhibitions, openings and networking events.

The visit forms part of the Professional Development Programme at Visiting Arts which was created to increase the range and depth of intercultural dialogue between the UK and Africa’s contemporary visual arts sectors. The visit was co-organised and mediated by London-based curator Raphael Chikukwa.

A report of the visit will be available soon. For details please contact:
