April 2008 Forthcoming Roadshows and Seminars Caravan Breakfast Visiting arts is hosting a networking breakfast at the Caravan Assembly in Brighton on 12 May for participants and delegates. The event will include round table discussions on intercultural dialogue in international work, led by Nelson Fernandez, Yvette Vaughan Jones, Gavin Stride (Farnham Maltings), Andy McKim (Theatre Passe Muraille), Mark Yeoman (Stichting Noorderzoon Festival) and Neil Butler (UZ events). The final DCMS Roadshows will take place at the British Museum on 9 June 2008. This London regional event, in partnership with MLA London will look at performance in non-performance spaces. The event is aimed at the heritage sector as well as the wider arts sector and will involve contributions from Betsy Gregory (Dance Umbrella), The British Museum, Nelson Fernandez and other contributors to be announced. The event is aimed at senior managers and attendance is by invitation only.
Visiting Arts has begun its series of international working seminars in Arts Council England’s regional offices. Staff in the North East and Yorkshire regions explored general good practice and issues around international engagement in their specific sectors and regions in relation to ‘Grants for the Arts’, advice giving and broader international strategy.
