Strengthening intercultural understanding through the arts

We work with artists and cultural professionals expanding knowledge, horizons and opportunities for exchange to open dialogue, further international arts practice and champion intercultural understanding.

Colombia - England 2007/08

The aim of the Colombia-England Artists' Fellowship Programme is to establish an exchange between artists who are engaged in contemporary arts practice in the fields of visual and performing arts that will lead to the growth of sustainable cultural links between the two countries. The programme is a joint initiative between Visiting Arts, Ministry of Culture Colombia, British Council and Arts Council England.  Artists selected for this year's residencies are:

Nelson Guzman (photography) and John Jairo Garcia (music) have both been selected to undertake a three-month residency in the UK beginning in April this year.
 
Nelson will spend his time between Metal and Open Eye (Liverpool) and John will be based with the Guildhall Connect Programme (London).

UK to Colombia

Anne Burke has been selected as the UK participant of the programme and will visit Colombia mid February for three months. She will take up her residency at the Universidad de los Andes.
