DCMS Roadshows

The DCMS Roadshows are drawing to a close with the final event in this series taking place in London later this year.

The East Regional seminar in October 2007 was hosted at the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge in Partnership with Living East. Yvette Vaughan Jones introduced presentations by Roy Baldwin (Creative Gateway) on working with China, Belinda Farrell (Essex-Jiangsu Cultural Exchange) on the International Cultural Festival and Fenella Barber (China Now) about the China Now Festival and engaging with China.

The Yorkshire seminar took place in November 2007 at the Round Foundry Media Centre in Leeds in partnership with Yorkshire Culture. Entitled ‘International Working – Festivals and their legacy’ it was attended by representatives of Festivals in the public, private and education sectors across the region.
 
Neil Wallace (Artistic Director, Doelen Rotterdam) led a workshop-style seminar exploring the ‘Festival Footprint’, with a case study presentation by William Culver-Dodds of Harrogate International Festivals. Tessa Gordziejko, Yorkshire’s Creative Programmer for the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad also took the opportunity to discuss London 2012.
 
Farnham Maltings hosted the South East Roadshow as part of their Caravan Dialogues Series. ‘International Working- Intercultural dialogue’ was led by Nelson Fernandez and independent cultural producer Di Robson who were joined by performing arts companies from the region.
