We work with artists and cultural professionals expanding knowledge, horizons and opportunities for exchange to open dialogue, further international arts practice and champion intercultural understanding.

VISITING ARTS CURATORS’ VISIT TO MALI NOVEMBER 2009

Visiting Arts is leading a curators’ visit to The Bamako Encounters, Biennial of African Photography, Mali, during November 2009. Established since 1994, the 2009 Biennial takes the theme of ‘Borders’ and forms the eighth edition of this event. Contemporary works from across the African continent will be presented to create an exhibition programme that promotes opportunities for regional integration, international exchange and dialogue and that facilitates links with photography festivals and the visual arts throughout Africa and around the world.

The visit is currently taking place with the Biennial opening from Saturday November 7th. Part of the itinerary will also include meetings with artists, curators and networking events, to encourage collaborative working.
