Run as part of our mission to support the UK sector in its international work and deliver an information and knowledge sharing service, these events are held in the UK and focus on different art forms and contemporary debates within intercultural arts practice.

Visiting Arts staff are also regularly invited to participate and speak at conference and seminar events across the UK and overseas.

Future Thinking - Report and podcasts

A discussion event on sustainable international residencies, Future Thinking was run in partnership with Artquest and held at Tate Britain.

The day offered the opportunity for an in depth discussion on international visual arts exchange, with the aim of exploring new paradigms of practice. Speakers included:

Artists in Global Practice

On Tuesday 20 October 2009, Visiting Arts hosted an event in partnership with Dance Umbrella African Crossroads 2009 at The Place in London. The event explored the notion of ‘Artists in Global Practice’. The evening consisted of interviews and presentations addressing how artists are collaborating and creating in a global context, and how new technologies have allowed greater dialogue with peers across the globe.
